Creating a Social Platform
to Enhance the reading
Experience.
A Case Study on my year-long capstone project completing my Bachelors of Design.
My Product
There are many reading apps but none that motivate readers to pick up a book through an enhanced reading experience. My app encourages readers to extend their reading experience by getting creative. Through “RoundTable” readers are able to create and share playlists, moodboards, and quotes based on their current read to motivate other readers to pick up a book. Readers are able to gauge which book is right for them based on other user’s posts, bringing together a community of readers alike.

Research
Overview on the research and main findings in the first half of the project process.
Methods
Survey
Through the surveys I found that Reading is more of a social experience than typically discussed. All participants feel the need to share their opinions on a book with their peers.
Looking at the apps Goodreads, Bookly, and Strava. Comparing their strengths, weaknesses, and differences.
Observation
Observing Bookly's online book club, starting with the voting process for the month's theme and books then observing discussion that is divided up into channels where members can speak freely about the book of the month
Personas
Creating personas based on the user research; the user looking for a solution that will give him book suggestions based on his previous 5-star reads.

Putting the pieces together
